LABOUR - RYAN SMART SNP JOHN
My name is Ryan Smart. I am the Scottish Labour candidate for Perthshire North in the upcoming Scottish Parliament Election on May 6, 2021.
I am originally from a working-class community where my wife and I have raised our two young children. I went to school in this area and then went on to the University of Dundee to study a BA (Hon) in community education.
I have worked mainly with young people and teenagers in my life from youth work to a residential childcare unit. I have then gone on to represent my local community as their local councillor.
I will give a fresh perspective on the issues affecting those in
Perthshire North. Coming from
I know and have lived through many of the issues faced by everyday people. From worrying about paying bills to food insecurity, I have been there.
I will fight for local issues such as maintaining and bringing back local service like banks and post offices to rural communities. I will look at ways to tackle rural poverty and bring fresh ideas and initiatives on the lack of public transport in rural areas and fight for a nationalised transport service.
Finally, it is time we stopped divisive politics of constitutional matters which have little relevance to our day-to-day lives and focus on recovery after COVID-19. While focusing on recovery I will work to bring funding to this constituency for sport, leisure and tourism for the local council and local NHS services.
