Court sets new date

- COURT REPORTER

A new trial date has been set for a Perth woman accused of causing a disturbance near her home - and then spitting at a police officer.

Twenty-three-year-old Aimee Anderson, of

Crieff Road, was to have been tried at Perth Sheriff Court on May 20.

But depute fiscal Lisa Marshall said because of the COVID pandemic, the case had not been “identified as a priority”.

She denied that on October 1, 2020, at Crieff Road, she repeatedly shouted and swore and struggled with PCs Stephen Curry and Scott Power in a bid to evade arrest.

A third charge alleges that she spat at PC Curry’s face.

The new trial date is July 13, with an earlier hearing scheduled for June 24.

Her bail was continued meantime.
