Alistair Smith, station manager, said:“We are delighted to have been recognised among a large number of other stations doing great work across the UK.

“For all of us the last year has shown the importance of local communication through all of our platforms and serving our local area. This also gave us the challenge of providing a radio service whilst being advised to work from home.

“I am delighted that fiddle teacher Katherine Liley has been nominated for female presenter as her commitment to promoting Scottish music, along with her bubbly personality, makes a perfect listen. Newcomer to radio Ashley Keenan-Bryce has shown amazing commitment to the news team, as she is still in full time study and is certainly one to watch for the future.

“Our commitment to news has further been recognised with our nomination in the best outside broadcast or live event when we brought our listeners the result of the Scottish Parliamentary election from the count.

“To be nominated for station of the year is amazing too, as this instantly means we are recognised as one of the top five radio stations in the UK.”
