St Johnstone have distributed 1000 free tickets to local kids for Saturday’s game against Livingston.

The Perth club teamed-up with Saints in the Community to encourage families down to McDiarmid Park.

For Saints, who sit 11th in the Scottish Premiership, it will be their final home match before the league split.

Rebekah Penman from Saints in the Community is always keen to give kids the best opportunity to cheer on the team.

“The football club and the community trust regularly work together to distribute complimentary family tickets,” she said.

“For some families it’s their first St Johnstone match and for others it can be their first ever football game.

“It’s great we can provide an opportunity for a fun family day out.

“The kids have a fantastic time and we often receive messages of thanks from families, or see photos of children with a St Johnstone player and Brogan the Beagle.”

Rebekah added: “Local school pupils will cheer on Saints and we’re excited to have them in the stands with us. Hopefully families want to come back again.”

The kids attending this weekend’s game will be housed in The Ormond Stand.

And Saints manager Callum Davidson hopes his side can provide plenty of entertainment. He’d love to see any first-timers return regularly.

Davidson said: “It’s brilliant to be getting the young supporters back through the door. We’ve done it quite a lot and we need to keep doing it – making sure parents and kids are supporting us.

“Hopefully we can win and score a few goals to keep them engrossed.”
