Man charged after A9 collision
Two teenagers had to be taken to hospital following a collision on the A9 between Dunkeld and Pitlochry.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Kindallachan at around 7am on Monday morning following reports of a crash involving two vehicles.
Two people were subsequently taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
A 59-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident.
The road was closed in both directions for a number of hours, with motorists facing long delays.
Police Scotland confirmed the road was fully reopen just after 2pm.
A spokesperson added: “We received a report of a crash involving two vehicles on the A9 near Kindallachan, around 7am on Monday, April 3, 2023.
“The driver and passenger of one of the vehicles, an 18-year-old man and 19-year-old man, were taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
“A 59-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident.
“The road was fully re-opened around 2.15pm.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 6.58am to attend a road traffic collision on the A9 near Pitlochry.
“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and transported two patients to Ninewells Hospital.”
Two fire appliances from Aberfeldy and Blairgowrie were also called to the incident.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.05am on Monday, April 3 to reports of a collision involving two vehicles at the A9 near to Kindallachan.
“Operations control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene.
“Firefighters extracted two casualties and handed them into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
