GOLF UPDATE
King James VI Golf Club is opening its doors to the public on April 30 as part of an initiative to attract people of all ages into the sport.
Building on the success of its Get Into Golf programme, the club is determined to showcase the benefits of golf as a competitive and social activity and welcome new faces as well as perhaps tempt some back to the game.
The club, meanwhile, has taken the decision to offer free junior membership to both children and grandchildren of current Island members.
It is also offering new juniors the opportunity to join for a nominal fee and receive a number of additional benefits, including member guest rates and access to a coaching programme.
A gents introductory package has been introduced, including individual lessons from a PGA professional, supplemented with on course support from volunteer members.
Clubs and golf balls will be available for all to use, with an array of fun activities in and around the clubhouse hosted by PGA professional Gregor Wright.
There will also be an opportunity for those who want to play the course.
