Cash support ensures that playground makeover goes down a treat with pupils
Arngask Primary School in Glenfarg has had an exciting new playground makeover during the Easter holidays.
The makeover was made possible thanks to generous funding from the Kinross-shire Fund, administered by Foundation Scotland.
Kevin Macleod, writer, singer and performer, formerly with FUNBOX, the family singalong show, officially opened the playground on Monday.
The grant was applied for by Arngask Parent Council, which also self-funded part of the work.
The painting, undertaken by first4playgrounds, included repainting the netball court and educational designs.
Arngask pupils can now enjoy a 1-200 snakes and ladders game, a circular maze and a countryside trail.
The Perthshire school involved the children in selecting the designs, providing an engaging and interactive outdoor space for the youngsters to play and learn.
The new playground lines and artwork are sure to spark the children’s imagination and enhance their creativity while promoting physical activity and social interaction.
In addition to the repainting, the playground received a tremendous amount of bark last year, helping transform the adventure playground. The bark was kindly donated by Perthshire Timber Company and delivered by the Binn Group.
Head teacher Suzanne Miller said:“the success of this project highlights the importance of parent councils’ involvement and the significant benefits of local funding opportunities like the Kinross-shire Fund, which is available through Foundation Scotland.
“With the help of the grant, Arngask Primary School has been able to transform its playground into a vibrant and exciting space that will benefit the students for years to come.”
