Punters rein in £6k for charity

-

Almost 7000 racegoers who revelled in Perth Racecourse’s Edinburgh Gin Ladies Day helped raise £6,242 for Breast Cancer Now.

Having in 2022 passed £100,000 in funds raised over the years for the hugely popular event’s charity partner, the latest generous donations from punters pushed that total towards the £110,000 mark.

It was the icing on the cake for another memorable Ladies Day, with thousands of dressed up attendees lapping up the competitions on May 18, supported by fashion sponsor Tiger Lily Boutique, and enjoying an array of entertainment including a post-racing DJ set by Edith Bowman.

The fashion competition winners were:

Mairi Duthie – who won £1000 worth of Tiger Lily Boutique online vouchers and £1000 cash

• Best Suit, Troy Parr – who won four Otherlands Festival Tickets

• Best Headwear, Gabriella Grant – who won a hair makeover at Charlie Taylor Perth or Dundee
