Brian was a‘cherished colleague’

-

The former colleagues of Brian Low at Edradynate Estate have expressed their shock at the death of the former groundsman.

Brian, 65, worked for the estate for 20 years before retiring last year.

He had began work there as a forester before helping to run events at the site as a groundsman, among other roles.

Jamie Campbell, managing director, told how“cherished colleague” Brian was making a new life for himself after leaving his role. He said:“it has all really unfolded for us in the past 24 hours and I found out last night.

“We found the police announcement... and that’s all we know. He was an employee of the estate for around 20 years so it is devastating news.

“He left almost exactly a year ago and was making a new life for himself and was seemingly settling well into his new found semi-retirement.

“His initial position was that of forester but he later became a groundskeeper.

“He was a much cherished colleague and someone that we all got on with very well and we are all devastated.”

A spokesman for the estate said they were in touch with Brian’s next of kin. He added: .“We are in shock. Brian was a much-liked and wellrespected member of the team for many years.

“He will be very much missed. All our condolences got to his family.”

Members of the community have also expressed their concerns following the news, with chair of Aberfeldy Community Council, Victor Clements, expressing his condolences to Brian’s loved ones.

He said:“this is such a shock for everyone in the community and it is incomprehensible that something like this has happened here. What his family must be going through is unimagineable.

“There is an anxiety and tension in the air here as people are worried. They will be hoping the police can do their jobs quickly to find out what happened.”
