Music and poetry at fundraiser

- ROBBIE CHALMERS

Following the success of last year’s event at The Salutation Hotel which raised over £620 for Perth Foodbank, Outside Lav Productions has announced another Terminal Boredom event.

The fundraiser is a collaboration of local DJS Steven Duncan, Simon Duncan and Grant Mckormick, alongside designer and artist Johnny Gould, in aid of Perthshire Women’s Aid.

Highlights include DJ sets, live music from local favourites The Curtains and spokenword poetry from Mark Richardson and Rana Marathon.

The event will take place at The St Johnstone Supporters Club, 11 Barossa Street from 7pm until 1am on March 16.

Steven Duncan, one of the organisers commented: “Terminal Boredom is a collective of like-minded individuals, local to Perth, who have a belief in the impact that music can have on individuals and communities.

“Music brings people together, it transcends barriers, whether they are cultural, linguistic, or social and we want to create a space for this.

“We are trying to foster a reputation for providing something different, that is inclusive and will use spaces that are under utilised.

“Keeping ticket prices low is important to us. There is a pressure on folks and their available spending power.

“We can all remember when live events in town were free or, at the least, entry was priced low enough to allow access to all, and our entry price will always have this in mind.

“We recognise that we are fortunate enough to be able to put events on and we will continue to raise funds for local and national charities, with nearly £2500 being raised from our events these past two years”.

Terminal Boredom will return for more gigs throughout 2024.

Tickets for The St Johnstone Club event, can be purchased only on the door, priced £10 each. All profits will be given directly to Perthshire Women’s Aid.
