1 UNDERSTANDING THE LIGHTROOM INTERFACE

Work with speed and precision within the main developing window

-

The Develop module is where you’ll spend most of your time enhancing your images and making them the best they can be. With options available for almost any style of photography, you’ll always be able to tweak your images subtly or delve deep into the colour, contrast, spot healing, filtered gradients and many other powerful tools so that your images look exactly how you want them to. The Develop module is split into sections, with panels on either side of the Content Window, in which the photo you are currently working on is displayed.

1 The NAVIGATOR WINDOW

Navigator allows you to preview your images while browsing through the Filmstrip, as well as to quickly zoom in while editing.

2 This CONTENT WINDOW

is the main area where you view photos. You’ll see any adjustments you make appear here in real time, giving you full control over precise editing.

3 These PANELS (LEFT)

are useful panels where you can apply presets, view the history of the image or organise your images into collections for easy access to groups of photos.

4 The FILMSTRIP

Filmstrip displays smaller thumbnail versions of the photos located in your library. It works as a scrolling bar from left to right for easy viewing and navigation.

5 This TOOLBAR

is where you’ll find helpful tools, such as Crop, Spot Heal, Masking and Red Eye Removal. When you select a tool, a range of options for that tool become available.

6 This PANELS (RIGHT)

section comprises drop-down menus and sliders that you can use to make postprocessing adjustments, including Tone, Color, Details and Effects.
