TTARTISAN LAUNCHES BUDGET TILT-SHIFT 2X MACRO LENS

A versatile full-frame lens for a range of mounts, at a very affordable price

-

New tilt-shift lenses are something of a rarity in the mirrorless era, with few new first-party options, but Chinese lens specialist TTArtisan has launched its first tilt-shift lens, which also offers 2x macro capabilities, and will be available for Canon RF, Nikon Z, Sony E and Fujifilm X mirrorless camera mounts.

The TTartisan Tilt&Shift 100mm

F/2.8 2X Ultra Macro is a telephoto macro lens with a maximum 2:1 magnification, making it ideal for photographing insects and other miniature subjects. The lens is available to order now, for an impressively low price of just £317 / $389. The lens joins the tilt-only TTArtisan Tilt 50mm F1.4, but additionally offers shift and macro-focusing capabilities, giving it greater appeal to wildlife and product photographers. It offers up to 6mm of shift, and up to eight degrees of tilt, with these movements able to be applied independently, and can be rotated 90 degrees clockwise or anticlockwise. The lens also features a tilt-locking mechanism to ensure it stays in place during shooting.

Tilt-shift lenses allow you to move the lens’s position relative to the sensor – up and down, side to side, and at an angle. This allows you to correct for or exaggerate distortion in the image, and enables you to increase or decrease depth of field without having to adjust the aperture value.

As mentioned, the TTartisan Tilt-Shift 100mm F/2.8 2X Ultra Macro is available to order now, with shipping due to commence in June. The lens is supplied with a detachable cold shoe, which screws into the top of the lens, and which can be used to provide targeted lighting for macro subjects.
