SLIM-SPIRATIONAL!
Hayley shed 4st after a quick snap shocked her into action
I scoffed takeaways at night
For my daughter Charlotte’s 11th birthday, my fiancé, Jaime Brown, 34, and I bought her the smartphone that she had wanted.
As I drove home later that day, Charlotte snapped a photo of me, unawares, and showed me.
Spying my double chin and bulging belly, I was repulsed. ‘Delete it, now!’ I ordered. I’d once been a size 12, but since having Charlotte, Chloe, nine, and George, two, I’d grown to a size 18.
Scoffing takeaways at night, my 5ft 3in frame wasn’t carrying it so well.
So three days later, I signed up to Slimming World.
Weighing in at a shocking 13st 9lbs, I was determined to stick at it.
Back home, I snapped a secret selfie to keep me focused.
I swapped takeaways for cooking spag bol and shepherd’s pies - they were just as tasty.
Receiving certificates for every 7lbs lost, I proudly displayed them on my ‘Inspiration Wall’ in my kitchen.
Just three months on, I had lost 2st.
‘That’s fantastic Mum!’ Charlotte praised.
Feeling energetic, I joined the local Jog Derbyshire running group.
I was nervous as I’d never run further than up the stairs before!
But six weeks in, I’d managed a 5km run, so I kept going.
Six months later, I hit my target of 9st 4lbs. Slipping into a size 8 for the first time ever was such a thrill for me.
The best part about it is that I’m now a healthy role model for the kids. To top it off, I was nominated for Slimming World’s Woman of the Year Award.
Another certificate for the Inspiration Wall!
I even ran the Debry City Half Marathon as Jaime and the kids cheered me on.
The new me is ready to take on anything.
