FRIENDLY WORKOUTS

-

Friends who train together stay together! Active Nation, a charity working to get the nation up and moving (www.activenation.org.uk), gives us their fun workout tips that will see you losing those calories, but most importantly, making new friends…

LET’S DANCE!

Rally the girls and dance like no one’s watching! Why not try Sh’bam, the perfect Latin inspired dance workout. It will feel more like a party than an exercise class. Combining cardio, conditioning, balance and flexibility, you’re guaranteed to work up a sweat with your mates and leave beaming from ear to ear.

FRESH AIR FITNESS

Whether it’s rambling or running, this is one of the easiest ways to be more active. Rally your friends or join your local walking group – lace up, step outside – it’s free, after all. Regular walking will help to reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, asthma and strokes.

GO TEAM!

Group exercise classes, whether it’s spinning or circuits, bring out the best in team training and you’ll be cheering each other through each ride and rep before you know it. Supporting each other to learn new techniques and lift new weights and sharing these successes is such a great way to build friendships.

A SPLASH OF COLOUR

There’s no better way to achieve your exercise goals than putting a date in the diary for a fun run or obstacle course. Why not try an Active Warrior Rainbow Rampage event; together you’ll take on 3km of mini walls, body slides, colour pools and even a foamy gauntlet. Perfect girls’ day out with a difference!
