Will I keep her safe if I’m a party pooper?

Every year, we spend New Year’s Eve at my parents’ house and have a family party. But this year, my 16-year-old daughter has been invited to a friend’s. She really wants to go, but I’m not comfortable as I know they’ll end up drinking and being wild. At the same time, I don’t want to be a ‘boring’ mum. Should I insist that she come to the family party, where I know she’ll be safe? Miranda, Swindon
