GLIDE THROUGH THE BRECON BEACONS
The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal was once an important transport route, and now it’s a lovely place for lazy strolling and boating. Peaceful and rural, it’s often voted Britain’s prettiest canal. Boaters can enjoy incredible mountain views on the two-and-a-halfhour journey, as they pass the Brecon Beacons National Park and appealing towns and villages along the way. Start at Goytre Wharf near Abergavenny and finish at the popular Star pub at Mamhilad.
