Continuous cough

Qmy toddler had croup almost 2 weeks ago. He was only ill for a couple of days, but the cough has persisted, especially at night. Does he have asthma? Hayley, Burnley

aNo, the croup virus can cause a cough for up to 2-3 weeks. If he’s well and not breathless, then there’s no cause for concern. Winter is hard for under-2s, as they get multiple infections.
