Pick Me Up!

I had a £1,500 shock win… We were dreaming of enjoying cocktails by the pool in the sunshine

As my partner Collette, 42, got off the sofa to get ready for bed, I glanced at my watch. It was 10pm and I fancied a game of bingo.

So I played Sapphire Bingo, my favourite game. It was a Link game which offers the chance to win an even bigger Full House as all players from the connected rooms play together.

Tonight, the Full House was £1,500. I also liked the chat room very much.

As I watched the game, I was four numbers away from a Full House, then one of mine came out and then another, until…

‘I’ve won!’ I cried out to Collette.

I’d signed up to Pick Me Up! Bingo in August 2013, and I’d always told Collette about the winners who’d scooped the jackpot.

And now it was me! Both too excited to sleep, so…

‘Let’s look for

holidays!’ I said. ‘Think of the trip we could have with that!’ So we spent a couple of hours browsing travel agents’ websites and dreaming of enjoying cocktails by the pool in the sunshine.

And, when the money dropped into my bank account a week later, I took Collette for a lovely slap-up steak dinner.

‘Well, this really is quite a treat!’ she told me, laughing.

I put a little bit of the money aside, too.

Plus, I booked myself some more driving lessons. I’d failed my test back when I was 17 and wanted another go.

Me and Collette still haven’t decided on a holiday destination yet. But I’ve used some of the cash to renew my passport. So, when we do decide, the world is going to be my oyster!

Thank you, Pick Me

Up! Bingo.
