Dominic Ransom, 30, Sheffield

Burglar Dominic Ransom broke into two houses in Sheffield in August 2018 and stole watches, wallets, cash and laptops. Officers traced him to his home, where they found him hiding in a kitchen cupboard.

At Sheffield Crown Court, Ransom pleaded guilty to two burglaries and was sentenced to three years in prison.

Investigating officer PC David Stacey said, ‘ We are pleased with the sentence… Burglary can have a longterm impact on victims, especially in cases like these where the homeowner witnessed Ransom in action.'
