Ivan Atanasov, 48, Gillingham

An argument led to one man being badly beaten around the head – with a mug.

On 15 June 2018, police were called to a house in Gillingham and found a man with a head injury. The force used was so severe, fragments of the mug were found in the wound.

While the victim was taken to hospital, Ivan Atanasov was arrested. At Maidstone Crown Court, Atanasov admitted one count of unlawful wounding and was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison. A charge of wounding with intent was ordered to lie on file.
