Mark Kenneth Blackley, 40, of no fixed address

On 11 January 2018, knife-wielding Blackley demanded cash and bank cards from a terrified couple in their home, while their children slept upstairs. He then forced them to drive to a cashpoint. When he somehow lost the cards, he made them drive to a supermarket, where they fled.

Blackley then broke into another home, threatening more people with a knife and stealing cash and their car.

At Manchester Crown Court, after pleading guilty to a number of offences – including robbery and kidnapping – Blackley was jailed for 24 years.
