Pick Me Up!

Staycation

-

As restrictions ease, many dog owners might be thinking of taking their four-legged friends on a staycation. The Kennel Club has rounded up some tips on keeping your dog safe when embarking on your well-deserved travels.

1. Always check the latest information about the dog-friendly status of sites, routes and attractions, as well as any seasonal restrictions.

2. Take all necessary equipment, including more than one lead. Bring a water bowl as some places that were previously dog-friendly may have changed their status.

3. Remember that dogs should never be left in the car unattended.

4. Ensure there is a shady space for the dog in the car during the journey, and make lots of stops.

5. It may be warmer in the back of the car than in the front, so make sure that you check on your dog regularly. Find more tips on The Kennel Club’s post-lockdown hub thekennelclub.org. uk/pawbypaw
