FIVE QUESTIONS WITH…

How can I find the perfect winter coat that provides warmth and shape?

When we think of warm coats, we can often be drawn to bulky, blanket-like ones that can often make us feel shapeless.

However, a long-line padded coat with a belted waist is a great option to keep your warm and keep your shape, creating that ultimate winter silhouette.

What coats and boots are trending this year?

Teddy coats are having their moment this year, especially in neutral colours.

These pieces go with every outfit and although black coats are classic for a reason, opting for another neutral colour such as chocolate brown, tan, or cream can help to add depths to your look and are bang on for winter.

Comfy and practical boots have been reigning supreme during the past few years, too.

How can I ensure that my boots don’t rub when I wear them for the first time?

Breaking in your new boots can be a painful ordeal. Leather is an unforgiving material, so I’d suggest wearing them around the house for a couple of days to wear them in a bit before taking your chances walking around all day in them on a shopping trip or at work.

Another tip is to make sure you clean and condition your new boots as this will help them to become more flexible.

What colour coats are best?

Winter fashion is all about combating the grey weather and wearing colours that make us happy.

Although we won’t be wearing it near any red wine, a white coat is perfect for those winter days as it can brighten up your outfit.

If white is too risky, we recommend going for a pattern.

How can I style a coat to match my body shape?

A wrap coat with a belt to cinch in your waist is extremely flattering for hourglass and pear-shaped figures and the adjustability is always a bonus if you want to loosen it for more comfort or tighten it for an extra cinch.

For more rectangular body shapes which can pull off any silhouette, a chunky or oversized coat is on-trend this season, so try one of those.

For individuals with apple body shapes, it’s all about elongating the legs – opt for cropped styles that sit at your hip or upper thigh to show off those pins.
