For larger sizes, apple and pear-shaped figures:
Wrap-dresses are a style that fit most body shapes and can be highly flattering.
Empire lines look fab on pear-shaped ladies but these are to be avoided for those with an apple shape.
Instead, choose tunic-style dresses and avoid flimsy fabrics and choose stronger, structured ones.
For those with larger arms:
You don’t have to cover these up, often it’s about diverting the focus elsewhere on your figure.
Show off your waist with a chunky belt. Or if you have slim wrists, choose a sleeve that emphasises this slender part of your arm.
Shoes, shoes, shoes:
Now is the time to strut your stuff in glitzy heels – these work well with little black dresses.
Thigh-high boots are back and complement jumper dresses, mini dresses and blazer dresses.
A low platform is a great option for those who struggle with a heel but want to lengthen their legs.
Bags and accessories:
For body shapes on the curvy side, choose a lowhanging bag which will make you appear slimmer. If you’re tall and slim, go for an oversized bag.
Jewellery:
Jewellery can really make an outfit.
If you’re larger, try to stay clear of anything too oversized as it can really break up the body – go for finer pieces to elongate and lengthen the body.
Although don’t be afraid to go bold with a statement earring – long drop earrings help elongate and lengthen.
For smaller sizes, bold works well. Don’t be afraid to experiment with layering pieces – stacking rings and bangles are great.
