Tecnam aircraft to be built in China...
Italian manufacturer Tecnam has signed an exclusive agreement with Liaoning United Aviation, Shenyan Aircraft Co Ltd (LUSY) to produce three models exclusively for Chinese customers. LUSY’S Faque Airportbased production facility will manufacture the P2006T twin, two-seat P2008JC and new four-seat P2010. The first aircraft off the Chinese production line will be the P2006T, which is already certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC). Chinese certification the other models is under way.
The ever-growing demand for air transportation in China is prompting demand for an estimated 500,000-plus commercial pilots to be trained over the next few decades, and the Tecnam/lusy agreement has been forged to support this need, says Tecnam Managing Director Paolo Pascale. “Our co-operation with LUSY will ensure our China-based customers will also benefit from our very high standards of service and support. We expect to see hundreds of Tecnam aeroplanes roll off the LUSY production facility over the next few years.”
Meanwhile, at home in Italy Tecnam has undertaken a major upgrade of the Visitor and Delivery Centre at its Capua production facility. The company says that many of its customers, especially those based in Europe, personally collect their new aircraft directly from the factory (see August’s ‘Flying Adventure’ — Ed.) “Quality and service are at the very heart of everything we do at Tecnam,” says Pascale. “We are extremely proud that so many of our customers take time to visit us and then take delivery of their new aeroplanes. We really welcome the opportunity to offer a such personal service and support. Facilities such as a cafeteria and other enhancements are aimed at ensuring that they have the most enjoyable, productive and rewarding visit to Capua.”
In the three months to September Tecnam delivered 32 aircraft, including twelve P92s and P2008s, eleven Astores and P2002s, two P2010s and seven P2006TS.
