...as will the revived, all-composite Windecker Eagle

Pilot - - PILOT NOTES -

Chinese businessman Wei Hang, who commissioned the restoration of a rare Windecker Eagle to airworthiness, now plans to start series production of the allcomposite aircraft in Chengdu and Tongliao. Along with two of the eight Eagles manufactured by Dr Leo Windecker’s company in 1969-70, Hang also bought the production rights and the type certificate for the design. He plans to produce ‘refined copies’ of the aircraft for China’s rapidly expanding general aviation market. Meanwhile, N4198G, the penultimate production airframe, which is being restored for him in the USA, will soon be test flown before it is dismantled and shipped to China for sales promotion.
