Praise for the ‘Plymouth hostage’

Pilot - - COCKPIT REPORT - Colin, via email

I would like to say how thoroughly impressed I was by the ‘Held Hostage at Plymouth’ article in January’s issue of Pilot.

It was a fantastic tale of David winning over Goliath. It takes a lot of courage to stand up for what you think is right and just. It was so important for Martin Ferid personally and for the whole flying community that he did so. There are plenty of disused airfields in the UK and I am sure that any pilot would now feel more comfortable and not hesitate in using them in a similar emergency situation.

The article was extremely well written and I for one would be happy to read more by the same author. Just read Martin’s article in Pilot — well done that man, with just a hint of what b*******s he was dealing with. I think you summed it up just right.
