Bell 407GT Helicopter takes on South Africa poaching
Heli Africa Wildlife and non-profit organisation Rhino911 is using a Bell 407GT to combat rhino poaching in South Africa and help curb the increasing number of rhino killed for their horn.
The specially equipped Bell 407 includes advanced night vision and thermal imaging capabilities, together with advanced sensors capable of discerning and tracking personnel from extreme distances, as well as pinpointing possible hides and poacher entry/exit routes. “Rhino911 is a fantastic initiative and we are proud that the Bell 407GT will take part in this adventure,” said Patrick Moulay, EVP of Global Sales and Marketing, Bell Helicopter. “The advanced Bell 407 can operate far beyond the visual range of the poachers, is camouflaged, fitted with low visibility, low-noise blades and equipped with a reinforced undercarriage, designed to protect the crew from hostile action.”
