EASA approves Piper’s M350

Pilot - - NOTES -

EASA has awarded a type certificate for the Piper M350. “The M350 is the only current production pressurised piston-engine aircraft on the market, making [EASA approval] an important achievement,” said Simon Caldecott, Piper’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

The M350 seats six and is powered by a 350hp Lycoming TIO-540-AE2A. Maximum cruising speed is 213kt TAS at up to 25,000ft. Equipped with Garmin 1000 avionics with dual 10.4 inch PFDS and a high-resolution 12.4 inch MFD, the M350 features electronic stability and underspeed protection, coupled go-around, automatic level, and an emergency decent mode that automatically descends the aircraft to lower levels in the case of pilot incapacitation at altitudes where oxygen is required. List price (2016) is $1,155,500.
