Tec­nam P2002JFS train Ar­gen­tinean cadets

On 5 July the ‘Solo Flight’ cer­e­mony for the first 34 Ar­gen­tine Air Force cadets who have trained on the ser­vice’s new Tec­nam P2002JFS took place at the School of Mil­i­tary Avi­a­tion in Cór­doba. Last Septem­ber the Ar­gen­tinean Air Force con­tracted to lease P2002JFS with an op­tion to pur­chase eight air­craft. The op­er­a­tional re­quire­ment was for 5,856 flight hours, to be flown within eigh­teen months. After their ar­rival in Ar­gentina, Aerotec Ar­gentina SA as­sem­bled the air­craft at its Men­doza fa­cil­ity. The con­tract with Tec­nam also in­cludes flight train­ing, con­tin­u­ous main­te­nance, spare parts and spe­cial­ist re-en­gi­neer­ing of air­craft to meet the Ar­gen­tinean armed forces Mil­i­tary Air­wor­thi­ness Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion re­quire­ments.
