Pilot - - OLD TIMERS -

Visitors to the East Kirkby Air Show on 5 August were surprised to see Tony Agar’s Mosquito NF11 HJ711 dismantled in the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre (LAHC) hangar following its road journey from the Yorkshire Air Museum (YAM) at Elvington a few days before. The rare night fighter had been carefully dismantled by members from the de Havilland Aircraft Museum, YAM and LAHC on 30-31 July for its first move in thirty years. Tony, who began the rebuild of HJ711 in 1971, hopes to complete the Mosquito and run its Merlin 25 engines to enable it to be taxied at future events, alongside the famous resident Lancaster NX611 Just Jane that is being restored to fly.
