Airbus aids Hurricane Irma victims
In the wake of the devastation caused in the Caribbean by Hurricane Irma, The Airbus Foundation and French Red Cross sent an Airbus A350 XWB test aircraft with thirty tonnes of emergency goods and 84 medical personnel from France to Pointe-à-pitre, Guadeloupe. The cargo included generators, water sanitation machines, solar lamps, beds, and mosquito netting destined for victims on the French territories of Saint-martin and SaintBarthélémy and for later distribution to other islands in the Caribbean. After delivery, the aircraft brought back to France some 200 people evacuated from the islands.
