Air­bus aids Hur­ri­cane Irma vic­tims

In the wake of the dev­as­ta­tion caused in the Caribbean by Hur­ri­cane Irma, The Air­bus Foun­da­tion and French Red Cross sent an Air­bus A350 XWB test air­craft with thirty tonnes of emer­gency goods and 84 med­i­cal per­son­nel from France to Pointe-à-pitre, Guade­loupe. The cargo in­cluded gen­er­a­tors, wa­ter san­i­ta­tion ma­chines, so­lar lamps, beds, and mos­quito net­ting des­tined for vic­tims on the French ter­ri­to­ries of Saint-martin and Sain­tBarthélém­y and for later dis­tri­bu­tion to other is­lands in the Caribbean. Af­ter de­liv­ery, the air­craft brought back to France some 200 peo­ple evac­u­ated from the is­lands.
