Bris­tow Nor­way wins Bar­ents Sea sup­port con­tract

Bris­tow Nor­way has won a five-year con­tract to pro­vide he­li­copter off­shore SAR and crew change ser­vices to sup­port rigs in the Bar­ents Sea. The con­tract, which in­cludes op­tions to ex­tend by three years, will be­gin on 1 Septem­ber 2018, and be op­er­ated by a Siko­rsky S-92 in oil and gas con­fig­u­ra­tion off­shore plat­form crew changes, and an all-weather-con­fig­ured (AWSAR) S-92 for SAR work. Both will be equipped with TCAS II, tail-mounted cam­eras and per­for­mance-based nav­i­ga­tion. The AWSAR S-92 will be cer­ti­fied for night vi­sion goggles (NVG) op­er­a­tions, with for­ward-look­ing in­frared (FLIR), auto hover, twin-hoist, mis­sion man­age­ment with mov­ing map, and in­creased on­board med­i­cal fa­cil­i­ties.
