In­dia to li­cence-build Kamov KRA-226TS

Dur­ing a re­cent visit to In­dia, Rus­sian He­li­copters’ Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer An­drey Bo­gin­skiy held talks with In­dian de­fence min­istry of­fi­cials re­gard­ing li­cence man­u­fac­ture of the Kamov KA-226T in the coun­try. A co­op­er­a­tion agree­ment be­tween In­dia and Rus­sia was signed in 2015 and a joint ven­ture es­tab­lished in June 2017 for assem­bly and re­pair op­er­a­tions. Un­der the agree­ment Rus­sia’s Rosoborone­x­port will sup­ply 200 Ka-226ts, of which at least 140 must be man­u­fac­tured by a joint ven­ture based in In­dia.
