You pays yer money…

Thank you so much for the ‘Celebrating fifty years of Pilot’ anniversary special — I reckon it is the best bargain this year in UK GA (and is now available to all: see p.58 — Ed).

I’m a newcomer to GA. To me your anniversary special is informative, amusing, engaging and has lots of fascinating old photos. The problem you may now have is that I may not be the only reader who asks if we can have another anniversary special next year, please. I’m happy if you charge a cover price rather than supply it in return for p+p. Maybe it could become a Pilot regular, similar to the annuals that appear at Christmas?

Slightly less of a bargain are the various aviation watches in Books & Gear, which are usually way outside my budget, and my attempt to convert their price into flying hours doesn’t help. It gets worse when I convert them further into the cost of training for a PPL and worse still when I convert them into the cost of a share in a C172 or PA-28! Ian Brothwell, Nottingham
