Avid reader of Pilot magazine, whom I thank for the competition, and Mean and Green for the prize. Here posing in my super prize outside my place of work, the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal. I’ll be giving away the smaller version to one of my work colleague’s children, and making a donation to the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
A private pilot, I got my licence in January 2008 after being badgered into it by a workmate who knew of my long-standing interest in aviation. I resisted a lot as I knew what the outcome of having a trial lesson would be... in fact I first got the bug with Kendal 1127 Sqn Air Cadets (rank attained Cadet Flight Sergeant) many moons ago in Chipmunks at former RAF Ouston (near Newcastle). Currently flying out of Kirkbride as our normal airfield is being upgraded for commercial operations – Carlisle Airport, where our flying club is based – Carlisle Flight Training. Robin Turnbull
