Pilot - - NOTES -

Oriens Aviation’s London Biggin Hill-based Authorised Pilatus Service Centre, which opened in February, is now supporting twelve PC-12S, including ten on the UK register− double the number at the start of the year. Oriens Maintenance, which complements the company’s sales activity as exclusive PC-12 distributor for the British Isles, has also extended support to operators of Swedish, Finnish, Swiss and USregistered PC-12S.

Following the Swiss manufacturer’s revised maintenance inspection schedule for the aircraft, which reduces the timing of inspections from 100 to 300 hours, it has increased capacity to handle other aircraft types too, and this year has carried out MRO checks on a Hawker 1000, Cessna 421 and Citation 500, and a Beechcraft 99. “We are keen to widen out our EASA capability and support types such as the Beechcraft King Air 90 and 200 series, plus the Cessna 208 Caravan,” says Oriens’ Maintenance Manager Steve Westran.

The company has invested in new tooling for propeller balancing, battery capacity testing, pitot static calibration and avionics testing, and, responding to increased demand for remote support and in readiness for the winter months, has equipped a Mercedes-benz van as a mobile workshop. This is due to arrive later this month.
