TAG Schol­ar­ship win­ner

Sev­en­teen-year-old Réshé Har­ri­son has been awarded the 2018 TAG Fly­ing Schol­ar­ship which pro­vides train­ing to­wards a PPL. Cur­rently study­ing for a BTEC Ex­tended Diploma in Aero­nau­ti­cal En­gi­neer­ing at Kingston Col­lege, Réshé, has over­come child­hood leukaemia to pur­sue his dream of be­com­ing a pi­lot. That dream be­gan when he was six years old and went on a chil­dren’s char­ity flight to Or­lando, dur­ing which he spoke with the air­craft’s cap­tain, who ad­vised him: “Work hard, be the best and one day I hope to see you in the cock­pit.”

Réshé, who is train­ing at Red­hill Avi­a­tion Flight Cen­tre, said: “Since that memorable day I have worked to­wards my ul­ti­mate goal of be­com­ing a pro­fes­sional pi­lot. The sup­port of the TAG Fly­ing Schol­ar­ship has pro­vided me with that vi­tal stepping stone to go on to uni­ver­sity to study Air Trans­port with Com­mer­cial Pi­lot Train­ing, and has ul­ti­mately given me the chance to make my dreams a re­al­ity.”
