New Dornier for Aurigny
RUAG Aviation has delivered a new Dornier 228 twin turboprop to Aurigny Air Services Ltd, the second new-build in the Channel Islands’ carrier’s fleet of four Dornier 228s. The aircraft also has two new features in the current production configuration: glass cockpit avionics including a recently certified digital autopilot, and enhanced passenger comfort with new cabin seating.
Aurigny operates passenger, medevac and cargo transport on the routes between Guernsey, Alderney and Southampton. Accepting the aircraft at RUAG’S Oberpfaffenhofen headquarters in Germany, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Darby said: “We rely on the aircraft’s inherent best-inclass performance characteristics for reliability, overall cost-efficiency, fast cruising speeds, STOL capability and stability in the face of strong crosswinds for continuous operations.”
The new Dornier 228 will support Aurigny’s passenger, medevac and cargo transport operations
