Leonardo and Sino-us Intercontinental Helicopter Investment (Sino-us) of China have signed contracts for fifteen AW139S for delivery between 2019 and 2021. Sino-us is exclusive distributor of Leonardo helicopters in the Chinese civil and commercial markets and plans to order 160 of various types between 2019-2023. It also plans to establish a Leonard-authorised training academy in China and to set up a completions and customisation centre.
More than 185 Leonardo types have now been sold to Chinese customers, and with further deliveries planned over the next few years, Kingwing will become one of the largest operators of the company’s helicopters worldwide.
