Piper PA18 Super Cub G-HELN made its first post-overhaul flight on 8 March 2019 at Turweston in the hands of Alan Turney. Originally serving with the Italian Army as MM52-2392 coded E.I.69, it was one of hundreds of Piper L-18C Super Cubs provided to European countries in the early 1950s under the Mutual Defense Aid Program.

Retired from military service, the Super Cub came to the UK in 1982 and was first registered G-BKDG. This was changed to G-HELN in January 1986, when ownership was transferred. It is now repainted in its striking 1950s Italian Army colours.
