This year’s Guild of Aviation Artists’ 49th Aviation Paint­ings of the Year Ex­hi­bi­tion takes place from 22-28 July at The Mall Gal­leries, London SW1. The world’s largest aviation art show, it will fea­ture 366 orig­i­nal works from 121 dif­fer­ent artists from around the world, with sub­jects cov­er­ing all eras and types of aviation from bal­loons to air­lin­ers and space­craft, and with a gen­er­ous se­lec­tion of light, sport and aer­o­batic air­craft.

In­for­mal demon­stra­tions by se­nior Guild artists of aviation paint­ing in oil, wa­ter­colour or gouache will be held daily through­out the ex­hi­bi­tion from Tues­day to Satur­day. The open­ing re­cep­tion on the 22nd is by in­vi­ta­tion only, but prospec­tive pur­chasers may ap­ply to the GAVA Sec­re­tary to at­tend the buy­ers’ pre­view on that day, which will take place from 3pm. Tues­day to Satur­day the ex­hi­bi­tion will be open from 1000-1700 (2000 on the Thurs­day), and 1000-1230 on the fi­nal Sun­day. Ad­mis­sion is free; the colour cat­a­logue costs £6.
