The an­nual Air Fes­ti­val at We­ston-su­per-mare, Som­er­set also took place 22-23 June, with good weather on the Satur­day but low cloud and rain mov­ing in on Sun­day af­ter­noon. The RAF took cen­tre stage with dis­plays from the BBMF Lan­caster and a pair of Spit­fires to­gether with more mod­ern solo per­form­ers. From a wide range of civil­ian par­tic­i­pants in­clud­ing the Gazelle Squadron’s pair, Team Raven’s RV-8 quar­tet, a Stear­man, Pitts and Har­vard, the high­light for many was the Great War Dis­play Team’s ex­cel­lent show. On this oc­ca­sion, the RFC was rep­re­sented by BE2C G-AWYI, Sop­with Tri­plane G-BWRA and RAF SE5A G-BDWJ tak­ing on the Ger­man Army Air Ser­vice Fokker Dr1 G-CFHY and ‘Junkers CL1’ G-BNPV.
