Air League schol­ar­ships

The Air League’s Fly­ing Schol­ar­ships are of­fer­ing twelve hours of pow­ered flight train­ing to­wards the award of a Pri­vate Pi­lot’s Li­cence en­abling as­pir­ing pi­lots to gain fur­ther ex­pe­ri­ence. Suc­cess­ful schol­ars un­der­take their train­ing as a res­i­den­tial course over one to two weeks to en­sure con­sis­tency in their learn­ing, and to al­low train­ing as a small group with other schol­ars so that a fun, open learn­ing en­vi­ron­ment can de­velop.

Ap­pli­ca­tions for the schol­ar­ships are open un­til 31 Jan­uary 2020 and in­ter­views will be held in March/april 2020. Fly­ing schol­ar­ships must be com­pleted be­tween May and the end of Oc­to­ber 2020. This year, the Air League will be work­ing with the Royal Air Force Sport Air­craft Fly­ing Schools and other part­ner or­gan­i­sa­tions in the UK to de­liver the fly­ing train­ing.

Flight­safety’s EASAqual­i­fied G500 train­ing

Flight­safety is now of­fer­ing EASAqual­i­fied ini­tial and re­cur­rent train­ing for Gulf­stream G500 air­craft op­er­a­tors at its Learn­ing Cen­ter in Sa­van­nah, Ge­or­gia, in ad­di­tion to other Easa-qual­i­fied cour­ses in­clud­ing the EASA Li­cence Skills Test, EASA Li­cence Pro­fi­ciency Test and EASA Op­er­a­tors Pro­fi­ciency Checks.

“We are com­mit­ted to pro­vide Gulf­stream G500 op­er­a­tors around the world with com­pre­hen­sive train­ing pro­grams that meet their spe­cific reg­u­la­tory re­quire­ments,” said Dan

Ru­nik, Se­nior Vice Pres­i­dent, Op­er­a­tions. “We worked closely with Gulf­stream to en­sure that our Easa-qual­i­fied G500 train­ing pro­grams are of the high­est qual­ity and meet the needs of our Cus­tomers.”

In ad­di­tion to two Flight­safety FS1000 full-mo­tion sim­u­la­tors, the Gulf­stream G500 type rat­ing course in­cludes the use of three new ad­vanced Graph­i­cal Flight-deck sim­u­la­tors that have been qual­i­fied by EASA as Level 1 Flight Train­ing De­vices, and class­rooms equipped with an in­ter­ac­tive MA­TRIX cock­pit. Th­ese new ad­vanced tech­nol­ogy train­ing de­vices fea­ture a vis­ual sys­tem, HUD/EVS and side­stick con­troller de­signed to en­hance sce­nario-based train­ing.
