Dear Reader

-

HELLO there, and welcome to The News on Tuesday which includes your Family Life pullout.

And this week’s Real Life story is one which proves the old adage that you are only as old as you feel.

Grandfathers Peter Ketley, 62, and his rowing partner Neil Young, 61, set themselves the challenge of becoming the oldest pair to row the Atlantic Ocean.

The duo spent 63 days at sea after setting off from the Canary Islands.

When they arrived at their destination the pair – dubbed the Grandads of the Atlantic – became the oldest people to have rowed any ocean, with a combined age of 123 years.

What a feat and what a read.

Sport today begins on page 43 and covers athletics, Hawks, rugby and all the latest from Fratton Park including an interview with attacking midfielder Gareth Evans who for the past two-and-a-half months wasn’t totally certain where his footballing future would like.

However, all that has been sorted now after the near 31-year-old signed a new two-year contract.
