Bible explains it all

-

I was interested in the letter of the day from Ted Saunders (March 12, ‘I can’t understand why today’s youngsters have to be so violent’).

To find an answer it would be wise to turn to the word of God, the Bible, and in the New Testament a letter from St Paul to the Church in Rome, chapter 1, verse 29, written over 2,000 years ago.

The letter says the following about the last days and what people will be like;

‘They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice, they are gossips, slanderers, God haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful, they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents, they are senseless, faithless, ruthless’.

This, I would suggest, sums up what is happening on our streets today and around the world.

People need to see the alternative lifestyle Jesus Christ can offer people when they turn and follow him in simple faith, a life completely opposite to the one as pictured in the passage quoted above.

The true Church of Jesus Christ has been preaching this message for over 2,000 years now.

All over the world people have the free choice to accept His message of hope and love or reject it and to just carry on as we are, seeing our streets today with its dreadful catalogue of violence and endless sorrow and deep sadness for the families of the many innocent victims. Lastly, the Bible also tells us that all people, both good and bad, will one day have to stand before God, on Judgement Day, and give a full account of all that they did whilst living here on earth. Everything will be looked into and a judgement will be made as to where they will spend eternity. Should people reading this have a view that this will not happen, it will. The Bible has explained it all in the Book of Revelations. It’s well worth reading or, better still, speak to someone who knows the Bible well. Ian Thornburn Cobden Avenue, Copnor
