Family celebrations captured on camera

Hannah Liddle says marrying her husband was one of the ‘happiest days of her life’.

‘There are so many things I love about him,’ she smiles.

Hannah, nee Sked, first met Alex Liddle, originally from Cheltenham, on dating website Plenty of Fish in 2014 but both of them attended Southampton University.

‘We were chatting for a while and he rang me randomly on my way home and we just clicked,’ says the 27-year-old.

‘We talked for hours.’

‘We have such a similar taste in books and music. And we both love our good food too, so we’re always going out for meals,’ laughs Hannah.

In 2017, Alex, 28, who works as a naval architect engineer, organised a celebratory meal for Hannah after she finished her medicine exams – or so she thought. However things didn’t go entirely according to plan.

‘He forgot his trousers and was getting rather stressed about it. I told him not to worry and we could just go another time.

‘I didn’t think he was going to propose!

‘We were staying at a friend’s house that night so he had to ring the friend asking to borrow some trousers,’ she laughs.

‘It was a great evening though.’

The couple decided to tie the knot in Hannah’s home city of Portsmouth at St Faith’s Church, Landport, in front of their 80 guests. They chose to have their reception at the Royal Marines Museum, Eastney, before it closed.

Hannah says: ‘I actually loved having our wedding photographs taken.

‘It was nice to have some time just me and him between the wedding and the reception.’

After their ‘perfect’ wedding, the Liddles honeymooned in Hong Kong and Thailand for two weeks.
