Islam is compatible

-

A recent ComRes survey found that

encompasses all mankind.

Its basic teaching is to fulfil the rights of God and to fulfil the rights of mankind. In fact, Muhammad (peace be upon him), the prophet of Islam, said that God will forgive the violation of His own rights but will not forgive the violation of human rights unless the victim himself pardons you.

This clearly shows how much emphasis Islam puts on social peace and integration within society.

Just last weekend, from 2-4 August, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK held its annual Jalsa Salana, which is the biggest Muslim convention in the UK.

The event was attended by nearly 40,000 people (including myself) from 115 countries of the world.

They came from all different nations, backgrounds and walks of life in order to enhance their spirituality and to strengthen bonds of love and brotherhood amongst each other.

They came to take a pledge of allegiance on the hand of their Caliph promising to abide by the peaceful teachings of Islam and to be of service to mankind in whichever way possible.

This Jalsa Salana is organized and run wholly by nearly 7,000 ‘volunteers’ who only do this so that they can all come together to show the world that Islam is all about love, kindness, tolerance and a peaceful society. They are doctors, engineers, teachers, architects and many other academics who serve for the betterment of their country, Britain. But here at the Jalsa they are all just volunteers who happily do things like cooking food, serving and accommodating guests, and even cleaning with smiles on their faces. They do not restrict this free, lovespreading peaceful event to Muslims only, but it is very open and welcoming to people from all faiths and no faith. So the Jalsa is attended by many non-Muslim guests, some of whom, inspired by the hospitality and love-filled environment of Jalsa, come by every year. If this love, hospitality and promotion of peace by Muslims, who live by the motto of “Love for All, Hatred for None”, is not considered to be compatible with British values, then what exactly are British values?
