Emsworth are setting impressive early pace

NICK FEGAN starred as Emsworth took their tally to 15 points from the opening two weeks of the Portsmouth & District Summer League.

Fegan cleared up his singles against Lee Rendle with a splendid 69, writes Graham Simper.

Copnor D were well beaten 7-2 as Fegan, Greg Harding and Chris Hardyman potted well for doubles.

Mick Kirby and Andy Boulton pulled Craneswate­r A over the line for a 5-4 win at Portcheste­r.

Jason Tame and Matt James also bagged a brace for the unlucky losers.

Lee Eden was the star turn as Copnor A bashed Bellair 7-2.

He won both and hit a 49 in the pairs to help Mark Tillison out.

Skipper Scott Compton and Ant Lacey also enjoyed themselves for the city men but Paul Jagger was lacking support from the Havant crew.

Waterloovi­lle A worked hard for a 5-4 win at Craneswate­r in division two.

After the singles were shared Jamie Wilson, with a 44, and Sam Tindall completed their doubles to make the difference .Mark Jones did well for the Southsea team to rub out an early visit of 54 from Dusty Tingley.

Post Office also won by the odd rack as Barry Turner showed his skills with a 35 and Dan Wells managed to win both as well at Craneswate­r Q.

The best break came from Jamie Gray with 48.

Ville D beat their clubmates in the B squad 7-2 .It was a one sided tussle with four cueists senjoying the rub of the green.

Steve Hughes, Bill Phillips, Darren Harper and Steve Wilson won two each.

Division three has a healthy look with the top two, Copnor B and Craneswate­r R on eleven points and Bellair and the North End Bowlers one adrift.

Bellair showed up well with an emphatic 7-2 over Alex Bowls.

A trio of Trev Sanders Gary Linter and Karl Smith dictated play with doubles to get up and running.

Craneswate­r R beat North End 5-4.
