The longer I live, the dafter this world seems to get.

It reminds me of an episode of Some Mothers Do ’Ave ’Em where a psychiatrist asks Frank Spencer to place different shaped objects into the correct openings on a board. He succeeds by managing somehow to get all the objects in the wrong holes.
